You've all read the horror stories. If you want to experience it all, just go work for Sammi Park in Tongyeong.

She will do it all for you. Lie, steal, cheat and work you like a slave. It was hell, what more can i say?
Single Apartment / black mole and neighbors cooking dog.
Pension, taxes, medical not paid but withheld from paycheck.
Plane ticket monies held as ramson from first paycheck.
I once went three days without water because she refused to call the landlord.

Yes, she had me working at three schools.... you get the picture. Be kind to yourself, don't go there!

jinikim was the recruiter used. He came to visit once when I tossed a fit about Sammi withholding the plane ticket costs from my wagers. He never spoke one word to me! He also didn't get my money back either. I finally got the money back at the completion of the contract!

Don't believe the lies about Tongyeong being Beautiful either, it's just as polluted as other places: Air, Water, and Land. It could be beautiful but, it's not.

It seems as if Jinikim has vanished. He hasn't posted any new jobs since June 06. Just be really careful before accepting any job in Tongyeong.

During the time I was there five teachers had quit or were quitting from various schools. Tongyeong is a dump. It's motto is "Beautiful City" yet.... it's just as polluted. if not more, as other places.

I'm glad I dind't find this posting before!! I would have been missing 3 so far great month in Sammi's School. I can't believe the discription of this Posting, for me everything is quite the oposite.

Of course I have to work, but like a Slave...? Not taken good care of?? I'm not 16 anymore an need my mother to watch out for me!! And about Tongyeong, of course not the heaven on earth, but not better or worse then any other city I've been.

Anyway, I have so far a really great time and just can recomend this place!!

PS: For me is this just another Posting, that shows how serious parts of such Forums are.....

First of all, let me congratulate you on your horrible English skills. Secondly, I hope you do have a better experience than I did. Lastly, watch out! In the eleventh month when I told her I was not going to renew the contract, she fired me. LOL Good luck to you troll!

I've also worked for Sammi Park and did not experience any of the problems mentioned. My time there was fun and I didn't have any problems. Of course people will see things differently, but she's not the monster has been portrayed. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask about my time in Tongyeong. It's actually a lovely city with many great sites to see!!

I find it curious that you both joined just to post a reply six months after
the original post. Anyway, what I've posted is true. She had me working at
two different kinder schools besides her own. She kept my pension mones, she never paid the taxes or the insurance but she took it out of my pay. Tongyeong is a nasty dirty place. don't drink the water!

I'm just wondering why somebody needs to be called a troll! Not nice half pint. There are a lot of people in these forums who have negative experiences in a place where others have positive ones. This is the precise reason we have these forums, for people to express and share. Name calling has no place here! I'm sorry you had a bad experience where you were, but you have to remember that one persons trash is another persons treasure. Remember this and you'll enjoy the forums and the input given a lot better.

You're very welcome. I hope that life goes better for you now. Not all schools/employers are ratbags, but it's true that some are. The hard part is figuring out what they are before signing on. previous teachers referrals are usually a good place to start!
