![]() | Do not even think about working for NCC in Dalian or Dalian Institute of Light Industry! There are so many things wrong with this program that I don't know where to begin. Mr. Frank Sun (Owner/Operator of NCC) forged a Master’s degree from a New York university so that I could work for Dalian Institute of Light Industry. I have a BA in Communications and Marketing with a CELTA certification. I was cheated, lied to and then fired because I can’t teach math! That's right! I was fired because I refused to teach math. My contract says I was hired to teach English as a Second Language, but he wanted me to teach math. The real reason I got fired was that there were three foreign teachers and only five students in the program. Mr. Frank Sun was making us work for Dalian Institute of Light Industry. The university was paying him for our services. The university wasn’t going to pay him for our holiday time, so he had to find a way to fire someone. He didn’t have enough money to pay all of us. During the last four weeks of the term, Mr. Frank Sun had the TA tell me I was assigned to a math class. I told the TA that I wasn’t qualified to teach math, and by the end of the day (without talking to Mr. Frank Sun) I received a “termination of contract” letter in my e-mail box. It is my understanding that I should receive at least 5,000 rmb for a flight home, because I finished the term. If the university paid Frank Sun this, he pocketed the money. I don’t know who to ask or where to get this information. The university isn’t helpful at all and has treated me as though I were the problem. Mr. Chen and Mr. Frank Sun are friends. Therefore, the university would not hire me. I am also trying to get the breach of penalty fee of $500 US. The reason I was fired was not a valid reason and according to my contract, I should receive this fee. I am trying to find someone to make a formal complaint to, but there is no "Foreign Bureau" of any kind in Dalian or Beijing. If anyone can tell me who to file a formal complaint to, I would be most grateful. Thank you. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For Formal Complaints http://www.englishschoolwatch.org/we...?topic_id=1462 This website claims that it "might" be able to help you if you have had a contract violation. I've never had reason to go to them yet as most of the time I my contract troubles were because of different perspectives on how a contract should be interpreted and not so much that the actual contract had been outright violated. Sounds to me like if you finished the term you are owed.
