Re: Don't work here: American School, A.I.E.S. in Nagoya, Japan

I also have had a very negative experience working at American School. Luckily, I got out before too much personal wrong doing was done, but I know several other teachers who have been put through hell by these people. I don't think you could find anyone who worked at this school who could say they had an even mildy good experience (aside from the children, who are of course wonderful). While some people do finish their contracts, it is only out of fear of what these people will do to them if they quit. They are constantly making threats and invading the privacy of their employees, as mentioned already in this thread.

It makes me sick that people like this are allowed to operate a school. There are tons of seedy businesspeople out there, but to allow them to operate a school seems a far worse injustice. I know that numerous attempts to stop these people have been made in the past and nothing gets done due to the inefficiency of the criminal system here in Japan. The owners of American School know this and continue to push legal and ethical boundaries with their employees and customers. There is NO WAY that people like this would be allowed to keep a school, filled with innocent children, running in my home country. The standards for running schools here clearly need some serious tightening up. It is so disheartening and I can only hope that justice will be served soon, especially for the sake of the children still attending this school.

I look forward to reading the new information posted on Wednesday and will happily back up any claims that I can.

Re: Don't work here: American School, A.I.E.S. in Nagoya, Japan

Hello:

Before I begin to write about what happened to a Canadian teacher at the hands of the owners of American School, I would like to first educate you on stalking laws in vaious countries.

First we will take a look at Canadian and American laws, then Japan's laws .

Then we will take a look at a phenomenon that started to occur in American.

Before I post I would like you to keep these laws in mind.

This is the Canadian criminal code and punishment for such offences. http://www.harassment-law.co.uk/canada.htm

Now take a look at Japanese law:
STALKING
KEYWORDS: CRIMINAL LAW, STALKING

Many complaints still abound about deficiencies in Japanese anti-stalking laws. Particularly the police seem still to be reluctant to follow-up on complaints by female victims who were in theory the primary beneficiaries of the laws. The Kobe District Court ordered the Kobe Prefectural Police to pay 66 million yen for failing to protect a woman who had been stalked by an ex-lover for years. Despite repeated complaints the police were not even recording them. The man even broke into her home and the police still did nothing. One woman who complained to the local police over a man who had been stalking her for over two years, was met with the policemans reaction that he did not want to potentially smear the mans reputation. Another man was given a life sentence for stalking and killing a 17 year old girl. He had been stalking her for about 40 days and the making about ten calls a day to her on the phone. Another 48 year old man was arrested on the stalking law after he made about 6000 calls to a former girl friend in a period of about one year. On the other hand, the police did arrest a woman who was stalking another woman in violation of the Stalking Prevention Law. Amazingly, the woman did it again after she was arrested the first time. In another case which resulted in the death of two people, a family had complained to the police about another man who had stalked them, threw stones at their house and even broke into their house saying he would kill them all. They were informed by the police that the national stalking law only applied to people who did these acts due to romantic or sexual interests. On the other hand, an anti-stalking ordinance by the Tokyo Municipal Government resulted in a suspended 18 month sentence for a man who had followed his landlord around and bad mouthed him. This Tokyo Municipal Government ordinance was specifically passed due to the above-mentioned weaknesses in the national law, requiring a romantic or sexual interest. The ordinance provides for a 500,000 fine but habitual offenders can be fined one million yen or imprisoned for one year.

Read about cause stalking:
Gang Stalking Home Page

This is exactly what happened to a Canadian teacher. I will present much of this informtion on Wednesday and Thursday along with all of the evidence and date collected. We are trying to educate people and are about to attempt to change the stalking laws so that this does not happen to anyone else in Japan.

Re: Don't work here: American School, A.I.E.S. in Nagoya, Japan

I am posting this information for the Canadian teacher that was involved in this case.

If you have read the previous postings then you know that Japanese stalking laws are less than adequate to put it
mildly.
In fact, after the second stalking incident with American School managers, the Canadian teacher sat in front of a
group of six police officers and they stated to her that the only way she could charge someone with stalking in
Japan is...."YOu must have had sex with them." The laws are the problem in Japan. If this school owner did this in
Canada, American or any other country, he would be sitting in prison right now.

I know you have read about how bad the owners of this school are and that you get the picture but you need to read
about how truly sick and twisted they are. I am being kind when I use these words.

The Canadian teacher left American School in December 1995. She left on fair terms with the owners. I say fair
because there were many unresolved labor issues.
1. overtime pay
2. holiday pay
3. unilateral changing of a contract whether the teachers like it or not.

In January 2005, the Canadian teacher received a phone call where she was doing a homestay with a friend.
The call came from four teachers(still employed at the school) who advised the former head teacher that their
working conditions had become worse since she had left.

They asked for her help and she arranged for a Japanese friend to take them to the labor office.

This teacher went to a different labor office. In Japan, there are two different offices; one for people experiencing
labor issues at the school they are presently employed with and the second if you have already stopped working at a
school.

A man from the labor office went to American School to conduct an investigation.
He advised the Canadian teacher that she was able to pursue the matter of overtime.

This was when American School decided to attack this teacher. News came back to her that Hitomi Ishizuka(manager)
was furious.
Ishizuka advised all teachers that they were not to have any further contact with the Canadian teacher whom she
deemed to be "a bad person".

The Canadian teacher did a homestay with the parent of former students of American School. After the birth of her third
child, the Japanese mom withdrew from the school.

What happened next is just bizarre. The teacher received many e-mails from parents asking them to please teach their
children because they missed her. She declined but went on several outings with students and their parents together. They
went to a zoo once and to a park.

The next thing she knew, American School was accusing her of stealing their students and teaching them and they accused
the Japanese(homestay lady) of starting ridiculous rumours. Of course this was not true but the school managers wanted
revenge on her for going to the labor office. So they decided to sue the Canadian teacher in small claims court and the homestay mom.

One day, the homestay mom is looking after her friends two children. She asked the teacher if she could take her
two kids and the other two to the park for 30 minutes while she and her husband run a few errands.
She did and as she took them to the park, a van suddenly pulls up beside her. It is the homestay mom telling her to
get into the van because she had just caught Dan Lewis video-taping her with the children. So what? They were
going to the park with a beach ball.
They drove around the block while Dan Lewis made a mad dash for his vehicle and the teacher and children were dropped
off at the house.
Mr. Lewis pursued the van for over 20 minutes in a high speed chase while the homestay mom was on the phone with
police. As the police pulled up, Mr. Lewis drove away and was advised to stay away from the house by the police.

The Canadian teacher was training for a marathon and who does she see as she is running? Hitomi Ishizuka, video-taping her
her from the school van and the school secretary is driving the van.

Next Ms.Ishuzuka went to Immigration. She advised them that the teacher had breached her contract and left her
company early. The problem when you lie Ms. Ishizuka is you have to remember what you said and did in the first place.
When the Canadian teacher went into Immigration to renew her visa for a new job, the said;"We already know who you are."
They gave her attitude up until the point when she showed them an e-mail from Hitomi. The e-mail reads like this:

"I can't believe that time has passed so quickly. Thank you for being such a dedicated teacher and for all of
your help". "When you get to Korea, please call me and I will give you my credit card number for the purchase
of the books". "You are our last hope".
Immigration granted the teacher a visa that day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were so many other incidents of stalking. You have already read about the surveillance and vido-taping into a livingroom and the arrest
of Hitomi Ishizuka.
How much stranger can this get? Well, since Ishizuka and her American boy/husband Dan Lewis cannot come near the teacher, enter Dan Lewis's brother.
Mr. Lewis's brother and a teacher named Kenny were caught video-taping the Canadian teacher working with her new school at an outing.

Now enter Dan Lewis's friend. For the purposes of this post, we will call him "judo boy". Judo boy (6ft/95kgs) two black belts. He ever so
casually meets the Canadian teacher on the subway. He asks for her phone number and if she wants to work out with him. She does, they work out at her gym.
Then he gives the Canadian teacher his e-mail. Teacher remembers Dan Lewis talking about his friend previously and his very distinctive e-mail.
On the second time this teacher works out with judo boy, he assaults her. She tells him to take a hike. She has seven e-mails with full headers in which
she is telling him to get lost. His reason for the assault? "I am allergic to caffeine."(yeah right)!
Judo boy is photographed outside of the teachers house and following her one evening while she is running.
Every conversation she had with him, always included conversations she had had throughout the day with other people.

Now the story gets very strange.
The teacher's e-mail is hacked. Her daughter's e-mails are hacked. 25000Yen worth of S&M videos arrive at the homestay lady's house.
All information on the teachers e-mail accounts are changed. Threat are issued, such as "Watch your back".

When the Canadian teacher went home, her e-bay, paypal and bank accounts were defrauded of just under $5000.00. Items were being sent to her mother's house.
This is what the detective from fraud stated.

Further to my message it looks like this IP number is on the Asia-Pacific Network which means it is likely that it originated from our friend in Japan.
I am sorry that I will not be able to do anything more for you at this time. I will keep the file open in the event that you receive word he will be coming to
Canada ( which is not likely ) Please keep this police report number on file somewhere safe for future reference. I have listed him as a suspect in your report
based on the info you provided me with on the phone.

Take a guess.
This is a message from a parent confirming that Dan Lewis hacked the teachers e-mail.

I got a call from a parent yesterday. When I heard new information, I got
a
Goosebumps.
You are right. American school hacked your e-mail. They submit your
e-mails
in the court. These are seven letters. One is my e-mail and 6 are your daughters.
My
e-mail is that I send about I asked you teach English to my child. I do not
know that 6 danas e-mails. The parent has these documents.

I asked Junko that it is illegal action. She has not asked her lawyer
about
it. so I recommended to ask her lower about it. If these are not
illegal,
Japan law is so wrong.
We do not protect from low. It is sad.

Take care

How interesting that both the teacher and her daughters e-mails were hacked and were presented in court.
Now we are getting to the manufacturing of evidence.
Can you believe a judge even allowed any hacked e-mails into court. The reason given was the fact that the
teacher left to go back to Canada, therefore she is not there to protest. We smell corruption how about you?
A film maker recently made a documentary about corruption in the Japanese judicial system. We will try to find the title of the documentary for you.

Enough said for today.

Re: Don't work here: American School, A.I.E.S. in Nagoya, Japan

One point of curiosity:

A work visa in Japan is cannot be issued the same day that you go in to renew it. You fill out the paper work and they then get you to fill out a postcard. Within a 2 weeks the postcard you filled out is sent to you by mail letting you know your visa has been processed and for you to come to immigration. When you show up, your visa is then put into your passport and you're good to go.

So I don't quite understand how this teacher could be issued a visa the same day that she went to renew.

If even one tenth of what was said above is true and can be backed up with any reports from the police (as all reporting incidents are done so), then this guy and his school's reputation are toast.

Dan Lewis it seems is also a former Mormon Missionary to Japan:

Japan Osaka | Friend Search

For an LDS member to engage in these sorts of things is rather contradictory to things.

Has anyone posted this to any websites for Japanese folks in Nagoya to warn them in Japanese? That would perhaps be a good avenue to persue.

Re: Don't work here: American School, A.I.E.S. in Nagoya, Japan

Hi Bearcat:

That is correct. The Immigration officer stamped the passport with the date of application and said it was approved on the spot. Of course you have to go through the waiting process before the final visa is placed in your passport. I can scan it if you like.

I wish that none of this was true! You have read the postings by the other teachers, the laws are weak. The Canadian police have advised me to sue the Japanese police but how can I fight a poor legal system.

Re: Don't work here: American School, A.I.E.S. in Nagoya, Japan

Hi Bearcat:

There are Japanese people that will be posting on websites. There is so much more to this.
I can't say anything else at the moment however, others will.

I have told everyone what happened to me and everything is fully backed up by witnesses and reports. More information has gone to the Japanese police.

I am sickened and disgusted as are the other teachers. The police and the Japanese system failed us.

No one should ever have to go through this and have their privacy invaded and their lives turned upside down.

Thanks for the clarification. Saying its approved but not issuing the sticker until after the processing time is not uncommon. That all makes sense now.

I though all of you might find this information interesting: It is a look into the mind of a cyber stalker.

Cyber-Stalking

Watch the excuses and justifications that Mr. Lewis will attempt to use when he posts.

The fact is there is no excuse and no justification for these behaviors. The fact is....this is a crime and is indeed a form of terrorism.

Re: Don't work here: American School, A.I.E.S. in Nagoya, Japan

Well everyone, here are the results of the court case.
If this is not unbelievable I don't know what is.

The judge in Japan decided against the Canadian teacher and her Japanese friend and has ordered them to pay $52000.00 in damages to American School. (Not if I can help it).
The judge allowed hacked private e-mails into court and based his decision partly on these e-mails. Here were go....higher court and media. We have not seen the e-mails so we can neither confirm or deny them.

Was this judge paid off or did he drink too much sake when he made his decision? You be the judge!

Did Mr. Lewis advise the judge that he also sent S&M videos while hacking the teachers account.

Come on Dan keep the threats coming to all of us. In the end the truth always is revealed.
