BENDA, Onoda, Japan

DO NOT work for this company.
Employees working in foreign countries for small, private companies are often mistreated and cannot get help or change their situation once they are contracted. Also be sure to ask many questions. Contracts can look good but not tell the whole truth.....

Good luck in your job search!

Hello Thomas, I would really like to know where you base yourself to make such a remark about this specific company.

Thank you.

Re: BENDA, Onoda, Japan

I would like to report this posting because as a BENDA employer, I find this extremely offensive and untrue. Benda has not employed male teachers for more than ten years, so unless reasons why to use BENDA's name to express an opinion about small schools in Japan is given, such individual should refrain from using names.
I am about to sign my second year contract with this specific company and I could not be happier with the way I have been treated since day one. I was never put in a position where I could not come to my employer's if I had an issue. They are kind and helpful in any situation.

I would ask the person who posted this to refrain from using any company's name, unless the complain is specifically against this company for personal reasons. BENDA does not hire male teachers because is also an All Girl Dance School, as well as an English Conversation Academy.

I would kindly ask the administrator to remove the posting as it is using a name stating an opinion about schools in general, not having personal experience with this company.
Best Regards,

PG

I agree with Alexandra.

Thomas, if you make such a claim, please try to back it up.

Quite a generalisation, and this would be more the rarity than the common.

Cool Re: BENDA, Onoda, Japan

My ex-girlfriend worked for Benda a few years ago while I worked as an A.L.T in Funairi, Japan. She had 2 consequtive days off each week, a competive salary, a free car and a reasonable amount of vacation days. As an A.L.T I worked less than her but I think the hours she worked were fairly similar to anyone else working in conversation schools (small or big) accross Japan.

After I finished working for the JET program I worked for a small private school myself in Seoul, Korea - with no problems.

Japan is a work - based society; anyone coming into the country to work has to try to accept that the work culture is going to be a little different. Japan was a fun experience for me and most of my peers at the time.

I'm sorry that the author has had such a bad time in Japan and I hope that things are better for him now in Europe.
