![]() | Where to teach Finally, I am looking at the best country to start. I was initially considering Japan or Hong Kong, mainly due that I would be able to find facilities that meet my needs. Weight training and bodybuilding is something that is apart of what I do and maintaining this particular quality of life I adhere to would be difficult if I was placed out in a rural area. I was thinking if I was lucky enough to get placement in a University would suit me due to that Uni's usually have recreational facilities. Is this the case? My other concern is that I am an Aussie who has spent an entire life on the ocean. Now I am aware I am doing this to experience other cultures, but if I can't get some salt water on my skin I will go insane. So I am starting to rule out Japan and Hong Kong. I am reading some interesting comments about Taiwan. So in a nutshell, I want to teach, get paid relatively well, meet new people and experience new cultures, go to the beach and train (Weightlift). Any suggestions? Last edited by gfell; Sun 20-Aug-06 at 03:28 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Best Place? Based on what you're wanting, and that you've ruled out Hong Kong and Japan - then it seems to me Taiwan is the only real place left unless you're willing to consider ANY Asian country that has a border on an ocean. Hainan island is a consideration, but you wouldn't be paid well from what I've heard from other foreigners.

![]() | New to Asia I am considering Japan and Hong Kong, but I am unsure that It will be able to suit my needs. There is nothing better than a 6am heart starter in a clean unpolluted sea. I understand that any Asian country on the coast would be a consideration however I am looking for suggestions that I may not have thought of previously. Also I am looking for a coastal area that has the recreational facilities that will suit my needs. |

![]() | Re: Where to teach I can uncerstand your concern, I too want to enjoy the salt water, and there are many locations that will allow you to do that. I would really look into the area before going and also consider the pay. |
