![]() | What's your favourite level to teach? For me, it's advanced, I'm currently teaching EAP, which is a bit too assessment/outcome focussed, I would like a general English advanced or a CAE class. However last year I taught lower intermediate for a while and had a ball, they had none of the inhibitions that the upper levels did because they didn't have the burden of being "advanced". How about you? |

![]() | Re: What's your favourite level to teach? Would have to be a mixture. I love teaching kids as I do adults. Having a schedule with a mix gives you the best of both worlds. Small classes of kids that are so adorable and small classes at company sites to keep your brain nourished. At one stage I taught a group of scientist's and their English level was rather high so we could discuss current affairs and so on.

![]() | Re: What's your favourite level to teach? It would have to be the age group 10~15. These students can be mature enough and disciplined to study. I don't have to jump around and play baby games as would be the case with 3 and 4 year olds. Also, the 10~15 year-old age group are just getting ready to become young adults and this is where I can help mould a good citizen for society. |

![]() | Re: What's your favourite level to teach? I am a British teacher and like all levels. I do have a preference for teaching elementary school and up. It is great to see the students advance and be able to have good conversations with them. |

| ESL Rookie ![]() | Re: What's your favourite level to teach? I teach kindy to grade 3 as well as adults ... I love the little 1-3 year olds because they try so hard and are always out to please the teacher... they thrive on attention and compliments and are so cute ! I enjoy the grades 1-3 as well, but enjoy the fact that we can work on more complex tasks, ongoing projects, web searches etc... and the kids are more independent. With this group, you have to work a little harder to keep the students interested and to gain respect; but the result (if successful) is a more sincere respect from the kids, rather than a blind obedience that the younger kids give. With adult classes, I like the occasional complete beginner, although this level can be very draining if taught in excess ! I liketo space the beginner adults between a couple of more abled adults, who allow for more conversation and discussion to keep the brain active.
