![]() | Re: Teaching paid by the minute Where did you hear this from? Never heard of such a crazy thing and certainly don't know of this happening. How would it work? Students don't pay by the minute, they pay by the lesson.

![]() | Smells like someone getting screwed. When you're paid by the hour, you'll usually teach a 50 min. class and get a 10 min. break. Maybe this place doesn't want to pay for the 10 mins. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid |

![]() | Paid by the minute sounds very petty. I might could understand being paid by the half-hour (or even the quarter hour). As a tutor, I could understand being paid for 1.5 hours because sometimes that fits better than 1 or 2 hours. |

![]() | Re: Teaching paid by the minute Paid by the minute?? That's the domain of prostitutes. Then again, could it be TEFL employment crossed with quantum theory?? I hope they aren't using gin-u-wine Rolex copy watches to keep track of working hours....What happens if you work 37 minutes and 43 seconds? Do you get part payment for that 43 seconds or is it just written off? Maybe it gets counted as prep time... |
