Exclamation Teacher Appreciation Week

Do you guys know that Teacher Appreciation Week is just round the corner? (7th May, 2006 to 13th May, 2006) Yeah! I know everyone is busy with their schedules, jobs and responsibilities in general. But, just think back on the days when you needed that small pat on your back or a word of encouragement and your teacher was ever ready to give it to you. So why not give your favorite teacher a surprise now by showing your appreciation on this special occasion.

And what are you planning to do? Need Ideas? Well, I have the solution. Just visit www.Teacher-appreciation.info. It’s the coolest website on teachers that I have come across. It’s got great ideas on just what to tell or give your teacher and also has contact addresses of different Teacher Associations all over the world. So what are you waiting for, go ahead, check out what you want to do for your teacher and just watch their faces glow with happiness.

Teacher Appreciation Week?

Never knew such a thing existed. That's kinda cool!

So what do we do if we are the only teacher at a school teaching? Do we announce to our students that we need a pat on the back? Sounds kinda corny doesn't it? It's like we are blowing our own horn.

But anway, interesting concept.

Quote from the Teacher Appreciation Website

“If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his office at one time, all of whom had different needs, and some of whom didn't want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance, had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher's job.”
Donald Quinn

Two words: How true. For those "real" teachers out there, the above scenario is not a bad thing though. We do it for the challenge, for the kids, for the adventure, for the mere and sometimes remote possibility of seeing that little light bulb turn on in the eye of a student. Because of the variety of students as described in the quote, teaching is at once wholesomely rewarding, and at the same time heartbreaking.

Smile That's why I teach

The only reason I teach lovely children is that they are so energetic, happy, enthusiatic about life and with a positive outlook. To teach these students offers me so much more in return than the money involved.
