![]() | Hello ! I am quite new on this forum, so I am sorry if I don't do things that should be done. I want to teach french to children, but not all my life, just for a few months (baby's coming ! ). I've helped children for their homework and I now work in a teaching institute, but I am not really teacher.I would like to know if I can teach french in Australia without ESL or other equivalent diploma, even if it is not really called "teacher". I am already in contact with interested people and I am sure I can teach easily. So do you know how I could do that? EDIT : I surely need to specify that I would like to teach french to children. Thank you very much! Last edited by gfell; Fri 22-Sep-06 at 12:11 AM. |

![]() | Teaching French in Australia Why don't you approach some local private schools that teach French to students? Apply direct to these schools and mention you are looking for part-time work. I would first start with local community classes. Teaching at TAFE and in the public school system will require you to hold a formal teaching qualification. If you stay out of the public school system, then I don't see why you cant teach in small language schools. Which city in Australia are you in? Just to give you an idea, you can read up on qualifications required and remuneration packages at https://www.det.nsw.edu.au/employment/index.htm
