![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The single most important question in the world of travel. The single most important question in the world of travel: “Do I really need a visa to go abroad?” Firstly, yes you absolutely need a Visa – American Express is only good in America. (duh!) Secondly, MasterCard is only for people who have a Master's degree (I know you knew this but it does lend itself to repeating here) and it is only good for transactions you would use with a card, (such as picking the lock on your door when you’ve left the keys in your house.) A Visa will allow you to do all of the above in every country you go to, so why take a chance? Make sure you get your Visa and carry it with you at all times when you are overseas.

![]() | Very good point Hypiereon. Visa is the most accepted card in the world. Strange how MasterCard has the same directors on the board as Visa however. Access to funds and credit really puts one at ease when in a foreign country. Can't believe this question was never asked before.
