![]() | Re: Money Tip - How much to take overseas? It's a good idea to check if the country you are going to requires a four, six or eight digit pin for ATMs. I used to have a four digit pin and when I went overseas, I found that in some countries ATMs will only accept six or eight and I couldn't use ATMs. I had to go into the bank and withdraw money over the counter and that is not always convenient. Exported Kiwi, it sounds like you need to take control of your own money. A lot of girls go for western guys for the amount of $$ they earn - don't be a sucker. If she's got new shoes and you can't even afford a beer... |

It's enough to pay, in cash, for most hotels, shop for a few days, pay taxis etc. keep the rest tucked away in savings! geo - star; I know it looks like she's after my money, and I can assure you, it's not the case. I figure she's put up with my shit for 2 years so she's earned the right to have a say about household finances. I also said that I have an ample stash of USD which grows by the month. I've taken my cards off her and put her on an allowance now, which is still higher than I give myself, but she's happy, and if the wife's happy, I'm happy....more peace that way! ![]()

| ESL Rookie ![]() | Re: Money Tip - How much to take overseas? Thanks for the help. Kiwi, as long as you are happy with the situation and she does for you. Forget what anybody else believes. If that changes, then you change. Relationships are about give and take. You might give more of one thing, but she might take much more of something else. Be happy and hook me up when I get there! Happy Holidays!

Yeah, it's a fairly good relationship and I'm kinda happy with it on the whole....could be a lot worse but I never go into anything with my eyes closed! Just let me know when you're over here, you have my number so we'll hook up and plan some mischief! Safe journeys!

![]() | Re: Money Tip - How much to take overseas? On the subjetc of money, how useful are credit cards as a payment option whilst waiting for job and wages/taiwanese bank account? Obviously shops will accept them, but if I want to pay a deposit/rent on a flat, can I pay by credit card or will I have to pay cash? |

![]() | Re: Money Tip - How much to take overseas? You will need to pay by cash or direct bank transfer. Real estate agents will shy away from credit cards and IF they do accept them, they would charge you the credit card processing fee of around 5%.
