![]() | Hello, What medications does everyone take when going abroad? What should I stockpile? Have seen ads from foreigners selling western size condoms as the asian condoms are too small? Is this true? So I should buy myself a heap of western sized condoms? What else do I need? Aspirin? Eye drops etc? Being a westerner, aren't our bodies bigger and stronger? So we need more powerful medication than our Asian counterparts? Has anyone experienced this? |

![]() | yeh, u will definitely need bigger condoms. The ones in China are tiny... ![]() What else... hmmm... that's about it really. I do bring back with me vitamins and minerals everytime as I take this on a regular basis, and I like to know what I am taking. Don't really trust what's in the Chinese medicines.... prob some pulverized snakes skin... ![]()

![]() | Condoms and dildos Ok, definitely need the condoms. Or you can order them online from www.dildo-talk.com. Don't know if they still sell them, but I bought my condoms there along with a huge dildo for this fat chick I know.... Gotta laugh ![]()

![]() | If you need a particular non-prescription medicine a lot (eg: cough medicine, special cream), then I suggest buying those things before heading overseas. If you buy them for example in Korea, Japan etc. when you arrive, then the strength of these medicines are not so strong. After all, Asians are half the size of us westerners. It's either that, or you buy double the quantity when you arrive. |

![]() | Hey, I just remembered. I ALWAYS bring with me deodorant from my home country. I use deodorant that doesn't contain alluminium, as alluminium is dangerous for the body. All deodorants in Asia contain alluminium. Anyway, deodorant is not so good in Asia as Asians don't perspire so much.

![]() | A friend of mine did get foot fungi under the toenail from public bathing. To get rid of it, you need prescription medicine from the doctor which is quite expensive. Instead, he got his mum to send over some over the counter toenail fungi cream. Just keep this in mind. |

![]() | Dandruff If you get dandruff in Japan, the local dandruff shampoos wont work. Get Nizoral 2% Anti-Dandruff treatment. Works great and no prescription needed! You will probably find this the same in other Asian countries too.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Whatever Makes You Feel Better My wife and I stockpiled the following items as they are not available in China and we don't trust Chinese doctors to take into account the size of our bodies. -NyQuil Liquid and caplets. Liquid for when you want to stay home and be sick, caplets for on the go. Daytime and nighttime formulas work well. -Advil cold and sinus. -Our favorite toothpastes. Me - Aquafresh; Her - colgate -Definitely need to bring your own deodorant in bulk. (Whoever said Asians don't perspire much never sat in the passenger compartment of a pedicab driver on a summer ChengDu day. Talk about curling your nosehairs!! -We also bought some sleep-aid to help with jetlag a bit. -Birth control for my wife; explain to your doctor where you're going for how long and that shouldn't be a problem. My basic advice is to bring in bulk whatever you take at home to make you feel better. You can experiment with "Ancient Chinese Medicine" if you want to, but even the locals go to the western hospitals when they get sick - so, "When in Rome . . ." and whatever. |

![]() | Medicine when teaching abroad Hahaha.... good comments. Have tried some of the Asian deodorants, and they really don't work. PLUS, I only take deodorant that is free of aluminium. Cause aluminium can lead to Alzheimers desease and generally isn't good for you. Usually rollons contain aluminium. So I use the spray. Condoms too... Don't appreciate such a tight squeeze with Asian condoms. |
