International Marriages - ESL Teaching

I just wondering what others think of an International Marriage? Do you think they are stronger than marriages of the same nationality?

I'm quite alarmed that as the years pass, more and more are opting for divorce whether the marriage be international or not. My parents went thru the tough years and came out smiling in the end. I think we need to all have more patience and effort in our marriages.

It's not for me, but I wonder why I often see Asian women with White men. Very seldom do I see an Asian man with a White woman...

Younger generation are more willing for international marriages. My grandmother is always telling me to meet a nice German girl as I am of German blood.

But for me, I would marry a woman that lights my fire regardless of race.

For me, race seems to play a part of the decision. Let me explain.

I've spent 10 years learning Japanese and living in Japan. Hence, I have a Japanese girlfriend. Well I did that is. Then last Xmas I headed back to South Africa for the holidays. Whilst in SA, I met a stunner of a Korean woman. She really liked me and vice versa. We were only together for 1 week before I went back to Japan.

We kept in contact for a few months before I told her that our relationship wont work. Reason being is that she is Korean and I have no idea about the Korean culture. I love Japan, the culture and understand it so well. So it's only fitting I be either with a Japanese girl or caucasion girl.

Understand where I'm coming from?

Voted great to see 2 cultures giving it a go. Even with same culture marriages nowadays, the divorce rate is heading towards 50%.

Not much hope for us single ones. :-(

My friend if you are just focusing on one type/one race you are obsessed with Japan.
Many like you are called otaku.
You know you should of went for the Korean woman.You we're probably fated with destiny.The only things I value in life is happiness,and harmony of life.A Korean could of gave you the laughter you sought in life.

When I was in Bali, Some of my ESL teacher-girl friends from Australia and Canada married Indonesian men... and I guess they're happy about their decisions..
