![]() | Re: How do you call back home? I tried the internet calling thing and it just didn't work fast enough to get calls through. Wasted $10 on that crap. Whenever I want to call home now I just use my cell phone. China Mobile has some code to call the US for 0.39RMB/min. I think I can afford that. |

I'm in Japan, brother's in London, Parents in Australia, and I have cousins in America, Canada and Israel.... but we all meet up on Skype and often we have 3 way group chats for free.... Skype will probably disconnect on you once every 45-60 minutes if you have anything less than a super fast broadband... but the price is right. I use "SKYPEOUT" which is the telephone calling feature of Skype...you put $10 on your account and it gives you about 50 hours of calling time to another country's land line... Call your family and friends overseas, even if they don't have skype, a computer or internet !!!

![]() | Re: How do you call back home? SkypeIn is also great. You pay less than $100 / year and get to choose a local number in any country you want. So if you buy a local Sydney number, friends and family can call that local Sydney number for the cost of a local call, and it then rings your PC if you have it on. If not, then it goes to voice mail. To receive the call it's free.

| Guru ![]() | Re: How do you call back home? Skype is the most hassle free method, the video chat also works well. Although I often just call of my mobile the rates aren't that expensive and it is convenient. You just have to call 10086 and then 2 for English and ask to speak to an operator and ask them. |
