![]() | Hi, I'm new I just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself. Right now, I'm working in the U.S. (born there, too) and finishing my 4-year degree so I can teach in Japan. I'll be done in December 2007. I'll have my TEFL certificate next month, too (i-to-i) and plan to go on getting as much experience and "paper" as I possibly can to help me get a good job. My experience comes from volunteering in the local community college ESL class and teaching my fiancee. When we met, he spoke very little English. Now, more than 2 years later, he'd do well living in the States (which is what he wants to do, but I'm realistically preparing to teach either here or there.) For now, he's in Japan, so our lessons are strictly via phone and email, which limits the tools we can use, but encourages me to be creative in my teaching methods. I'm studying Japanese, too. I think it will help me when teaching in Japan. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning from you. ![]() |
