Help! Reference wanted

G'day,

yes i am Aussie. I have a lack of Information to help me get into ESL.
I have no Educational Degree's but am very open minded & easy to teach. If any-one could offer a reference so i can get a degree would be extremely helpful. I'm just soo lost at the moment

Cheers.

Reference

What sort of reference are you looking for? Character reference? Why don't you ask a friend or teacher / employer / accountant etc.?

That's the Problem, i have very little knowledge of ESL.

I want to get a job over sea's for a while, whilst doing so hopefully build a career in Teaching or Education. I don't even know where to start looking in Brisbane, Australia for this type of education. I have also heard that i can do an Online degree. Again, can't find one suitable for myself.

The reason for this change is for jsut a change in life style. but getting out of it is harder then i thought.

I know a place i would like to go... but that does no good if i don't have the proper education.

Would it be faster/better to apply on an online Uni. or looking for something locally?

Getting an education

If you opt for an online education at a mainstream university, then most Bachelor degree courses will typically be around 3~4 years. One can only study so much in a day via correspondence.

If you cannot commit such a long time, then I recommend a shorter diploma course. Which country do you want to teach in? Are you above 30 years old? Reason I ask is if you are 30 or below, there is the possibility of a Working Holiday Visa in Korea or Japan.

hmm yes.. shorter degree would sound alot better.
i was thinking 6 months, but hey... like i said,i know little.

I am Younger then 30 & older then 20. Korea is actually the place i wanted to go.

If they want me likei am , but i think it would be smarter for me to know what i am doing.

Working Holiday Visa in South Korea

If you want to teach in South Korea, then consider a working holiday visa. Checkout the thread at http://www.aacircle.com.au/forums/ko....html#post2556

Sounds Understandable... but i don't have a fast sum of money.

I can get a passport. & later affort a flight.. but i know with traveling u can't just go oversea's with $100. At least without having a job waiting for you when u get there... even then i'm not sure.

Confused

I know if i could get there i would my ass off.... just don't have a degree to prove it.

Well, best to line up a job before you head to South Korea. Tell schools and recruiters that you have a working holiday visa so visa issues wont be an issue for them.

soo basically, i have to ask around for employment before going there... or i'm ..well let's just say screwed..

I have been trying that for the past week. using Teaching, volunteering, Full time, sales. I can't find a job over there.

I don't expect one handed to me, I just beleive i am going about it the wrong way. If i can get a teaching degree within 6 months, i would go for it (again, sounds easy enough). If there are any other jobs over there let me know

Otherwise, what would be a good Online site to get this degree? i'll ask around the QUT for more info as well.

Ironic isn't ? being taught to teach.... try saying that 10 times real fast
