Health insurance for teachers

Does anyone know of health insurance companies that cater for english teachers? What is the right insurance to get before going overseas?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Wink health insurance for english teachers

You will find that as a full-time teacher, you will be enrolled in the national health insurance scheme. If not, then by law you will be required to enrol in a national approved health insurance program.

In Taiwan, usually employers subsidise your health insurance. You will be enrolled in the national health insurance scheme. In Japan, you need to enrol yourself with an insurance company of your choice.

You can also book health insurance online for teachers.

International Health Insurance

You should check into international health insurance coverage plans from your home country. My family has one and we're from the USA. It is FAR cheaper than any health insurance plan in the states and also covers emergency evacuation. The only requirement is that we spend most of time out of the USA since health care costs in the USA are so high. For us we get the bonus of a US based company and quality health care when we do go back home - we went back to have our first child and the insurance kicked in smoothly for us without any problems or hesitation.

My wife and I have both required operations overseas here in China as well, and the costs were so low that it barely breeched our deductible. In any case, the emercengy evac is worth the cost alone, and knowing they will have us covered if we should need to go back to the USA for any reason is a great comfort.

Re: Health insurance for teachers

I have found that to be very ture. Most countries will pick up some if not all of the expenice of the health insurance. I would never go without any insurance at all, that can be real risky.
