Excursion & Tours - Important part of teaching

Excursion and Tours are very essential part of teaching practice. Normally excursions are held when a new session starts (mainly after vacations).

Benefits
  1. Teachers and students get to know each other in a better way.
  2. Students get a chance to mix with each other.
  3. Teachers can mix with co-teachers.
Just to add excursions are different from industrial trips or field trips.

Re: Excursion & Tours - Important part of teaching

For adults classes, typically the excursion is going to a pub or restaurant at the beginning of a term.

With children, the excursion would be to a zoo, park and so forth at the end of a term. Children are more insecure, hence excursions are not done at the beginning of a term. If teaching children around the age of 3 or 4, they will even cry just at the sight of a foreign teacher.

Agreed. Even from my experience as a child, you remember the "class trips" more than anything you learned in a classroom!
