![]() | DEGREE or NO DEGREE??? I've heard that for some programs you need to have at least a bachelors in something, but what about the TEFL, and what if you only have an associates degree or no degree at all? Is it even possible for someone to teach English in Korea straight out of high school? I've also heard that it is better to have at least some college under your belt before trying to teach, because of better pay, but is any college or the TEFL even necessary? THOUGHTS? ANSWERS? ![]() |

![]() | Re: DEGREE or NO DEGREE??? You wont be able to get a work visa issued without a bachelor's degree. If you are straight out of high-school, close to impossible to get a teaching job. You first need to learn the ropes, do some training / TEFL course and then start applying. Some countries have relaxed the rules where a Diploma + TEFL certificate will be adequate to get your work visa. I suggest going to university now... and worry about working later. Always harder to head back to Uni as a mature age student.
