![]() | Re: teaching assignment What challenges do you think there would be? Whilst we don't mind helping you out, some input on your behalf would also be appreciated. Thanks.

![]() | Re: teaching assignment One of the biggest challenges I find is keeping my energy levels high. Some students and classes really are draining. The worst would have to be man-to-man lessons, where the student has no personality and never asks questions. I did an intensive 2 week course for 1 student a few months ago. We had 6 hours a day together for 2 weeks. I nearly ripped my hair out. |

![]() | Re: Challenges in teaching a foreign language The hardest for me is to get students not interested in learning a language to get excited about a language they don't speak or know. Sometimes its frustrating when you have just pulled a rabbit out of a hat and they shrug their shoulders saying it would have been more interesting to see a rhino. |

Those one on one lessons really kill me. I think a key is to talk to them like they are your friends. Gauge their interest and if they don't ask questions, you start asking them. It works for me....... |

![]() | Re: Challenges in teaching a foreign language Oh yeah, I've had those classes, where they just sit there and blink at you. It's basically me just talking to myself, those classes I thank god I have a text and just go through that

![]() | Re: Challenges in teaching a foreign language Definitely unmotivated students make teaching difficult. Fortunately, I have a few really good students in each class to balance out the ones who just go to sleep in the back. I've also had the problem before with students who think only learning vocabulary is necessary for learning English. Trying to change a student's way of learning and thinking in order to help them improve is frustrating. |
