![]() | Out of curiosity, Am I asking to much when I am only looking at schools who are willing to pay airfare. Since I have so many loans I can't afford to pay airfare even though I am desperatly looking to teach Internationally. All opinions and suggestions are welcome. ![]() Last edited by gfell; Sun 20-Aug-06 at 04:13 PM. |

![]() | Melissia, Why don't you consider teaching in China then? Or even Korea? Both these countries it's common to get airfares included. Korea you would be paid more however so can bring back more to your home country. Taiwan also is quite attractive as they offer completion bonuses which would cover your airfare. But, you would be expected to pay upfront. In fact, many jobs you would be expected to pay up front, and half the airfare is reimbursed after 6 months, and the other half reimbursed at 12 months. |

![]() | I don't think you're asking to much by wanting your airfare covered. You are limiting yourself as to which countries you can work. Taiwan and Korea are a good if you are looking to make money. The job market is a little tighter here in Taiwan. You will have to work in order to make money. By work I mean pick up a private tutoring job on the side. It is very easy to save 1500-1700US/month. |

![]() | Your chances at getting pre-paid airfares are probably dependent on a number of conditions namely: (a) where you want to teach (b) your qualifications and if they fit the job requirements (c) the job conditions/benefits set by the employer but I'd certainly try for it anyway and best of luck |

![]() | Thanks everyone for your responses, I think they were very helpful. I just finished teaching my first year in New Mexico without a teaching license. I am pretty open to go to any country, so now it is just a matter of finding a school that will pay for the plane ticket up front. |
