Maybe that's not a very big deal, but hey, if all 1,000 of us start really sharing information and posting on this site and really help each other out, that's the resources and force of 999 other people like yourself who have something in common. You can help others learn from your experiences, and learn from the experiences of others, but the only way that's going to happen is if you start talking it up. Hope you all who are members now will do what you can to start sharing information, ideas, and generally get in the game to start helping each other out. Something you can do is just let everyone know who you are (alias is fine) what city you're in, what school you're at, what hours you're working per week, and for what monthly salary. Let us know if you like your school, the people there, and the accomodations; let us know if your school has openings, who people can contact, and then just keep that information updated through editing from time to time. Here - I'll start: Hypiereon - located in ChengDu city, SiChuan Province, Mainland China, I'll be teaching at XiNan JiaoTong DaXue (also informally known as Jiao Da). I have a one year contract from February 1st 2006 - January 31st, 2007. I will be teaching 12 hours at 5,500RMB or 14 hours at 6,500RMB as per my contract. Currently living off campus - heard from other teachers that on-campus accomodations are terrible. I like the people here. Aaron is the Foreign Affairs man that does the legwork, and Squirrel handles foreigner contracts. The school is currently not looking for teachers. However, they have shown interest in looking at teachers for future positions, but they aren't offering much right now - in the neighborhood of 3,000 - 3,500RMB.

![]() | 1000th Member! 1000th Member! Yeh, that's pretty good... but like Hypiereon says, it would be so much better if members would drop a line to say "hello", and let us all know what job you do, location or something that contributes. Hypiereon has made a lot of great posts, and I'm sure many have benefited from this. If each member just gave 1 tip or idea, then we would have 1000+ tips for all to use. No matter how small you think your tip or information is, just go for it. I will post my tip now in the Japan Teaching and Living Guide as it relates to Japan. ![]() Keep up the good work Hypiereon. The ESL Goodie due in February looks like it will come out in the next 2 weeks or less! It will be announced on the front page at that time.
