Also many times the employers ask you to provide reference names only. Then they would be communicating direclty with the references. This is also very common.

So make sure if you are providing any reference names - firstly ask for their consent and then inform them that you have provided their name. This way they are also not in surprise when they receive a call inquiring about you.
