Post Starting Salaries for University Graduates

Better Chance of Getting a Job

Graduates from the University of Wollongong in Australia have a far better chance of getting a top paying job than students from more traditional sandstone universities, according to a controversial survey.

The top starting salaries for university graduates go to:
  1. Dentists: AU$63,000
  2. Mining Engineers: AU$62,000
Not all traditional universities offer the same career aspects and earning potential for their graduates.

Universities with the lowest percentage of graduates seeking full-time employment after 4 months:
  1. Australian Maritime College: 0%
  2. Christian Heritage College: 6.7%
  3. University of Melbourne: 14.5%
So, don't be fooled by the name of the university. Whilst the University of Melbourne has the most prestige, it has the highest rate of unemployed graduates.

Prospective students need to know what to expect from their university and course prior to enrollment.
