I don't think there's anything wrong with writing your own resume as long as you really take the time to get it right. There is certainly an art to resume writing and it's the small little things that trip people up; however, I think there are enough resources freely available to help get the job done right.

That said, it probably wouldn't hurt to get a professionals advice, or at least get someone else to look it over and give you an honest answer.
