Well summed up. If they don't like you they don't say so. They just keep to themselves and ingore you. Perhaps the Japanese that don't like foreigners is due to the bad taste in their mouth of what the US Marines did in Okinawa, ie. the rape of a school girl. Even though this was years ago.
