TOEFL stands for Test Of English as a Foreign Language. It is test of the standard American English at a college level. Test results are only valid for 2 years, so always be sure to keep your your studies. We all know that once you stop, you become rusty in a 2nd language.

TOEFL though has come under criticism by some as even native English speakers cannot attain good scores at times. The overly complex grammar structures tested is really not indicative of daily communication needs. Hence, some colleges and universities now have alternate tests for new students.
