It's definitely something you must try whether you are a tourist or plan on living in Thailand. Never leave Thailand without an elephant ride.
Elephant trekking is a fantastic way to see the world at a higher level - on an elephants back. A ride takes you safely through the thick jungles, rugged terrains, mountain and hill slopes and through cool valleys.
I took my first elephant ride just the other day. I can't say it was all that thrilling but definitely worth the ride. Obviously elephants are very slow, so if you are a speed junky you will be disappointed.
