One of the schools I know of in Italy has the following school calendar for the 2006~07 school year.

First Term
Wednesday 6th September - Beginning of term
Thursday 21st December 2006 - End of Term

Second Term
Monday 8th January 2007 - Beginning of Term
Friday 30th March - End of Term

Third Term
Monday 16th April - Beginning of Term
Thursday 21st June - End of Term
