The guy sounds way over the top - extremely hard to believe he was fired because his gf was colored. Like ANY country there is racism here, but hardly noticable unless you are a complete jerk.

And yes, rip-offs are common - makes finding a good school before you sign a contract imperative. Not that contracts mean much - too often more a steel fist the school beats teachers with.

There are legal recourses available, which the malcontent never mentioned.

He does say "............unless you already speak and read flawless Korean, then you really don't have a clue what your real contract actually says."
Which is very odd, because I have never signed a Korean contract - they all have been in English.
