| damn! Damn! Get outta there ASAP then. Sometimes it's cheaper to bail on your contract than to try and stick it out because of some sense of misguided to loyalty to your "friends" who'd probably stick you in the back if it profited them in even a slight way. This is my experience with a company in Jilin and an American friend and I planned, schemed and plotted to escape and escape we did! We had a Chinese friend whom we trusted, get the train tickets in another city, took a bus to the city in which we'd board the train, and went to a lot of different places around the country so we left a trail that would be hard to follow. Then we dissappeared into Shanghai.
It might sound extreme to do all of this, but the owner of the company has a very very very high level affiliation with the Jilin police and as "Guangxi" is big here, we had to cover our footprints as best we could. We heard through our friend that the people in Jilin were looking for us....good luck to them, we're both legal in our new postions now, something we weren't in Jilin, so they can't touch us now, hehehehehe.
Remember that "failure to plan means that you plan to fail"
Good luck and take care amigo!
