Getting a job in Taiwan

Like most Asian countries, schools and employers do prefer native English speakers with a university degree. In Taiwan's situation, schools also like the English teacher to be Anglo-Saxon, that is, white in appearance. This is not a hard and fast rule, but being white will give you more chance.

The fact that you were born in Malaysia will make it difficult to find English teaching work in Taiwan. Where is your passport issued?
