Thumbs up About living in Taiwan

Good to have you aboard Notsureabouttaiwan!

Yeh, I'm not too fond of Korean food either. Way too spicy for me and the hot pots really don't leave me satisfied. Just a lot of fish heads, bones and nothing really to sink your teeth in.

If you like Chinese food, then Taiwan is a great place for you. The food here is great! Most people love Chinese food, and this can be illustrated by the fact that there are way more Chinese restaurants scattered around the world than Korean restaurants.

Weather will depend on what part of Taiwan you live in. Summers can get quite hot and humid. Taiwan is only a small island, so we also get quite a bit of rain. However, if you get up into the mountains, you can escape the hot summers.

Pollution can be a bit of a problem in Taipei. But like most large cities, you can't expect mountain fresh air.

Taiwan has some great countryside. So if you have a chance to travel around, definitely you will have a good time.

Kids I teach are adorable! Well mannered, polite and the mothers really take pride in them. We NEVER hit kids and not even the parents hit their kids. Hitting kids is really looked on badly by society here. Very rare to have a co-teacher in Taiwan. You will be solo handling the class all by yourself.

It's good fun teaching in Taiwan and I'm sure you can make some really nice friends!
