Questions about Taiwan from someone who taught in SK

I have some question for people who have taught in South Korea and are either now in Taiwan or who have just done both gigs.

I hope this board is friendlier than Dave's cafe because the people there are really a pain. I'm thinking there's a better class of people so I decided to post here instead.

I wanted to know the scoop on Taiwan, is it really better?

I'm quitting South Korea because I find it boring, I don't like having a co-teacher. I don't like kids being hit in my class. The weather sucks and the food is awful. I have traveled to many many Countries by far if i'm spoiled. I had quit a hard life, however I have a feeling Taiwan is more happening for a foreigner from Canada, hence the weather and the beaches..

I also want to work in a mixed highschool, most of those jobs in Korea are either boy's or girl's school and I rather a mixed enviroment. What's the siuation with this in Taiwan? I also don't like the attitudes of Korens towards foreigners, they seem to talk a little too much in Korean, like how everything all of the sudden goes silent when the foreigner walks in the room. I get that everyday in the teachers lunchroom. I feel like dressing up as Ozzy Osbourne just to freak them out.

I think the people who have been in both places know where I am coming from so, thank you if you feel you can assist my post.

Take it easy
