Whatever Makes You Feel Better

My wife and I stockpiled the following items as they are not available in China and we don't trust Chinese doctors to take into account the size of our bodies.

-NyQuil Liquid and caplets. Liquid for when you want to stay home and be sick, caplets for on the go. Daytime and nighttime formulas work well.
-Advil cold and sinus.
-Our favorite toothpastes. Me - Aquafresh; Her - colgate
-Definitely need to bring your own deodorant in bulk. (Whoever said Asians don't perspire much never sat in the passenger compartment of a pedicab driver on a summer ChengDu day. Talk about curling your nosehairs!!
-We also bought some sleep-aid to help with jetlag a bit.
-Birth control for my wife; explain to your doctor where you're going for how long and that shouldn't be a problem.

My basic advice is to bring in bulk whatever you take at home to make you feel better. You can experiment with "Ancient Chinese Medicine" if you want to, but even the locals go to the western hospitals when they get sick - so, "When in Rome . . ." and whatever.
