Re: BENDA, Onoda, Japan My ex-girlfriend worked for Benda a few years ago while I worked as an A.L.T in Funairi, Japan. She had 2 consequtive days off each week, a competive salary, a free car and a reasonable amount of vacation days. As an A.L.T I worked less than her but I think the hours she worked were fairly similar to anyone else working in conversation schools (small or big) accross Japan.
After I finished working for the JET program I worked for a small private school myself in Seoul, Korea - with no problems.
Japan is a work - based society; anyone coming into the country to work has to try to accept that the work culture is going to be a little different. Japan was a fun experience for me and most of my peers at the time.
I'm sorry that the author has had such a bad time in Japan and I hope that things are better for him now in Europe. |
