Dipping my toe in...

Evening all,

I was hoping to get some general advice of you all regarding making the move to Japan. I am currently completing my ITT in England in Performing Arts. I fell in love with Japan when I was on a Japanese advert aged 10 (aw...).

I have been told that I am already 'over-quallified' for many of the teaching assistant jobs that are available although I am more than prepared to do this for a year as long as it allows for a decent lifestyle and some exploring... I was hoping that this qualification would help me get some employment that's more secure and teacher-like (alongside the Tefl qual).

I've got lots to offer (in terms of music and drama) and would love to offer these to the right school. I've read about some of the nightmares that people have had regarding dodgy schools etc and thought I'd approach the forum's as to where to start looking. Is it a case of getting something and then looking around when I get over there as the best option?
Does anyone know anything about the Crossroads School in Matsuyama for example?

Cheers!
