Luke Janicke is on a distinguished road
Hello, I'm pleased to be here!

Hello everyone. I'm new here. My name is Luke and I'm living/working in Newcastle, Australia. I'm going to do TEFL/TESOL very soon (before mid-year). I'd like to teach in China and learn to speak Chinese while I'm there and I'm particularly interested in travelling into more remote regions (like, basically everywhere except the central East coast). Some people have said that it will not be a problem to get teaching jobs in rural areas because there is higher demand and less supply of teachers. I'm a totally adventerous person and would relish the experience of living a simpler life while experiencing the life and culture of the nationals. I am not much in favour of staying here in Australia doing the 9-5 just to support a lifestyle that doesn't excite me at all. Anyone been there before?

Anyway, I'll be browsing these forums for people's thoughts, advice and experiences. It looks like a good forum. Are there any other forums like this? This seems to be the only Australian one.

Hello again and I'm pleased to be here!
