Re: Teaching Japanese

Do you have a Japanese teacher's license? Because many Japanese teaching abroad all have this license. They will likely be your competition.

I suggest contacting International Japanese schools in China. I've never seen these jobs advertised, so you will need to be more pro-active than an English teacher looking for English teaching jobs.

Places to get the ball rolling:
  • China & Japan Female Study Seminar
Sponsored by Japan’s Josai International University, Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and South China Normal University.
  • Dalian University Of Foreign Languages also teaches Japanese.
  • Beanstalk International Bilingual Primary School (kindergarten)
Sino-Japanese Youth Exchange Center, 40 Liangmaqiao Lu,Chaoyang District
  • There is also a Japanese School inside the Lido Complex, Beijing
  • Shanghai Japanese Kindergarten: No.20 Lane 715 Maotai Road
  • Shanghai Japanese School: No.3185 Hongmei Road

I suggest also placing a classifieds ad on China Classifieds - City Weekend Guide once you arrive to China. Here you can place ad add looking for private students.

Also contact the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Shenzhen. There is an international Japanese school there in Shenzhen. Reason being is that there are quite a number of Japanese companies in Bao'an District. So you should plan to live nearby where there are a high number of Japanese companies.

Hope this info helps. 頑張ってください!
