In my opinion, definitely no. I only see a very small handful of schools requiring you to be under 38. So you don't need to worry. Once you get to over 45 it may be a different case for some countries. All depends also on what country you go to.

Japan has many much older teachers... and you would be surprised. The cost of living in Japan is cheaper than Australia too contrary to many's opinion.

Traveling throughout Japan may be expensive, but living in Japan is rather affordable.
