You would need to pay beforehand. No TESL / TESOL provider allows you the option to defer payments or to have payments deducted from your wages when you become a teacher.

The alternative would be to do a TESOL university program and apply for the HECS system in Australia.

You don't need TESOL to find a teaching job, but with it, the process of finding jobs will be a whole lot easier. Especially if you have no prior teaching experience.
