| Re: Value of a Degree vs. value of Cert. This is not true at all. In many countries, if you don't hold a minimum Bachelor's degree, then you don't even have a chance at teaching abroad. Many schools require you to hold a degree in order to have you issued a work permit. In many cases, "no degree = no job and no visa".
The advantages of a TEFL / Celta qualification is that it's focussed on the task of teaching ESL students, and will give you the tools you require to peform in the classroom.
So your statement that a TEFL / Celta qualification is better than a degree is completely wrong. |
