Ways of Learning and Teaching a Language - Communicative Approach

Communicative Approach

This approach is probably the most common, and is a combination of all the below approaches discussed. (see links below). Learning is focussed on communication - having students able to communicate in a range of daily conversation scenarios.

Most students enrol in English classes to become a better speaker, and so with this goal in mind, rather than learning about the language, students learn oral and written communication.

Tasks and situations are conducted in the classroom which allow students to communicate in a way that emulates real life use of language.
