Making someone find a replacement when they're ill is inhuman. I for one would NOt agree to such shitty terms at all! If one is sick, they're sick, simple as that. The onus should be on schools to have some sort of staff redundancy so this kind of eventuality can be covered. It's the schools responsibility to have a teacher for a class, it's the teachers responsibility to teach the classes as assigned, not to find coverage for themselves when ill!
Yes, there are a few who make any excuse to "cut" class and leave it to the school to cover, but I'd think that those cases are fairly rare and are done by folks who have no inkling of responsibility or anything approaching caring about doing a quality job. Those folks should be rooted out and sent home as soon as they're identified. The rest of us who remain would then be dedicated to what we do and will only call in ill if we truly are!
