Re: Shane English Schools, Japan and China

I’m sorry Ace, but I have never heard of anything as stupid as getting a teacher to organize a replacement teacher in order to have a sick day...

Most schools allow theirs teachers to have a number of unpaid sick days during the course of their employment but usually only about 3.
These sick days are also usually not paid by the employer so the teacher is taking an unpaid day off.

What if a teacher woke in the morning an hour before work sick. They should then ring and find a replacement?

If a teacher needs to take a sick day it is not their responsibility to do anything else than to notify the school or employer within the required time when possible.
Some schools even charge the teacher taking a sick day a higher rate of pay reduction an hour than they actually get paid after there allotted unpaid sick days are gone even if they still need further time to get well.
What teacher therefore would risk using their sick days unless absolutely necessary
I’m sorry Ace but your post sounds like an employer.
