Student Gender Ratios

Male Students outnumber Female Students

It's always interesting to note that the majority of my corporate English classes comprise of male students.

If one was to checkout the ratio of men to women in local English language schools, then you would find the opposite. Female students outnumber male students in language schools.

I'm in a good position to make a comparison as I teach English to both corporate classes and a local English language school. Still to this date I cannot explain why there is such a large difference in student gender ratios between corporate classes and local language schools.

The student demographics are similar. Probably the only explanation I can find is that corporate English classes start at around 6pm. By this time, female office workers are already at home looking after the household.
