As you are fully aware resumes are anywhere from 2 pages (incl. cover page) to X number . One can not answer that unless they have the education/job history of the resume they are creating.

There is no set standard for western resumes. Japanese employers do have a basic set standard for how a resume looks. You live in Japan, resumes are not all over the map. I have seen many have to start over on their resumes to suit the employers that they applied to. And in the end, (except for the information on it) they all have the same look. Even the photo you must include should have a certain look/size. I have an Irish client whose resume was openly accepted in N. America, but rejected in Japan. He contacted me for help in bringing his resume to Japanese standards.

For future reference:

There was no need to be sarcastic in your reply. I have never met you or talked to you before and I never reply to another in such a manner. Civility is a preferred trait by many and I am sure you could have asked your questions minus the sarcasm, dont you?
