What can I expect my teaching activities to be?
Your teaching activities in Taiwan will range from general free talking with students during class times, to doing drills, using flashcards, textbook work etc. You will have quite a lot of freedom on developing your classes to your particular style. Some teachers even get their students to do a speech in front of the class in English.
What is a typical working week?
You are working at a kindergarten Monday until Friday, from 8am until noon, taking a 2 hour lunch break, then back to the Kindergarten until they close at 4 or 5pm.
For this you could earn between NT$50,000 and NT$60,000 per month, depending on how much you work and what kind of teaching positions you land.
What about payment?
If enrolling in our Mandarin program, we will send the Acceptance Papers to your home address, which you can then use to apply for your visa before leaving home.
Payment can be arranged by international transfer, or payable by credit card via
PayPal.

How long does the application process take?
Once we receive your application details, it will take around 4 working days before we can reply to you. When you apply for a visa in your own country, it usually takes 3 days. The earlier we receive your application and supporting documents, the quicker we are able to reply to you.

Can I buy an online degree to satisfy visa formalities?
An instant online degree has at times been used to satisfy the formalities of the visa office. In the past, teachers have been offered a work permit with these instant degrees. AAC doesn't endorse the use of fake degrees and highly recommend teachers against this form of deception.
Can my partner get a visa if I am sponsored with a work permit?
Yes. The wife or husband can piggy back their partner on the work permit. Your marriage paperwork needs to be certified by the Taiwanese Consulate in your own country before leaving. Then, when you are both in Taiwan, you can then apply for a visa for your partner.
It would be better to settle down with your job first before your partner arrives in Taiwan. Until you receive your work permit and ARC, we won't be able to apply for your partner's spousal visa.
On my visa application form, there is a section on agent's details. What do I write here?
A lot of people are confused with this part of the visa application form. This section is for applicants applying for their visa through a travel agent or a specialised 3rd party visa office. It's safe to leave this section blank.
I'm arriving late at night to Taipei. Can you suggest a hotel?
Once you arrive to CKS International Airport we suggest King's Paradise Hotel. This hotel is very close to CKS International Airport. Their telephone number is +886-3-425-7151. The standard room charge is NT$1700. The hotel also offers free ADSL in the room for use, which you can plug in your notebook computer. The breakfast is NT$150. We recommend booking well in advance, as this is a very popular hotel.
