to open the doors and opportunities of your future!
Learn Chinese in 2 Convenient Locations
- Taipei: Study at Chung Hua University or CLD Language Center.
- Taichung: Study at Providence University.
We welcome students of all ages and abilities from absolute beginners to advanced students.
On or before arrival in Taiwan, students initially enrol for 1 semester (3 months). Students learn basic Chinese
conversation skills needed for everyday living in Taiwan, and which can be developed further during continued periods of study.
Students who study Chinese for 10 hours a week are entitled to visa extensions in order to continue their
studies. These extensions will be granted up to 2 months at a time, for a maximum total period of 6 months.
After 4 months of study it is possible to apply for an ARC (resident visa) through either Chung Hua University or
Providence University. The ARC allows for indefinite stays in Taiwan. The initial length of the ARC will depend on
paying tuition fees in advance for the length of stay required.
ARC's cannot be issued to students learning Chinese in private language centers. Hence, an ARC cannot be issued
if studying at CLD Language Center. If you intend learning Chinese at CLD, then ensure you have a visa to
remain in Taiwan.
Classes run for 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday, at convenient times to allow you to both work and study while
you are in Taiwan. The current age of students range from 18 to 50 with no age limit. Classes are aimed at
learning conversational Chinese, character writing, correct pronunciation and grammar working towards fluency.
The language is taught using the Beijing Pinyin system, the most widespread method for teaching Mandarin
and also the easiest system for beginners. All teachers are university graduates and have completed courses
in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.
Upon acceptance at Chung Hua University or Providence University, we will then post your Acceptance Papers
to your home address. These Acceptance Papers are then used to apply for your visa prior to coming to Taiwan.
If we have received all application documents, we can inform you whether you have been accepted or not within
5 working days.
